Looking for my books? My debut, The Last Checkmate, tells the story of a young Polish resistance worker who becomes a political prisoner in Auschwitz, where she plays chess in exchange for her life, and in doing so fights to bring the man who destroyed her family to justice. My second novel, Daughters of Victory, spans from the Russian Revolution to the Nazi occupation of the Soviet Union and follows two unforgettable women, their fates intertwined by ties of family and interrupted by the tragedy of war.
